# dayCount

> FullCalendar v5 documentation, for an old release. Web version: https://legacy.fullcalendar.io/v5/dayCount
>
> Latest version (v7): https://fullcalendar.io/docs/dayCount.md

Sets the exact number of days displayed in a custom view, regardless of [weekends](https://legacy.fullcalendar.io/v5/weekends.md) or [hiddenDays](https://legacy.fullcalendar.io/v5/hiddenDays.md).

<div class='spec' markdown='1'>
Integer
</div>

When a view's range is specified with a [duration](https://legacy.fullcalendar.io/v5/duration.md), hidden days will simply be omitted, and the view will stretch to fill the missing space. However, if you specify `dayCount`, you are guaranteed to see a certain number of days.

Example for a [Custom View](https://legacy.fullcalendar.io/v5/custom-view-with-settings.md):

```js
var calendar = new Calendar(calendarEl, {
  weekends: false,
  initialView: 'timeGridFourDay',
  views: {
    timeGridFourDay: {
      type: 'timeGrid',
      dayCount: 4
    }
  }
});
```

Simpler example for a calendar with one view:

```js
var calendar = new Calendar(calendarEl, {
  weekends: false,
  initialView: 'timeGrid',
  dayCount: 4
});
```
