# updateEvent

> FullCalendar v1 documentation, for an old release. Web version: https://legacy.fullcalendar.io/v1/updateEvent
>
> Latest version (v7): https://fullcalendar.io/docs/Event-setProp.md

Reports changes to an event and renders them on the calendar.

<div class='spec' markdown='1'>
.fullCalendar( 'updateEvent', *event* )
</div>

`event` must be the original [Event Object](https://legacy.fullcalendar.io/v1/event-object.md) for an event, **not** merely a reconstructed object. The original Event Object can obtained by callbacks such as [eventClick](https://legacy.fullcalendar.io/v1/eventClick.md), or by the [clientEvents](https://legacy.fullcalendar.io/v1/clientEvents.md) method.

Here is how you might update an event after a click:

```js
$('#calendar').fullCalendar({
  eventClick: function(event, element) {
    event.title = "CLICKED!";
    $('#calendar').fullCalendar('updateEvent', event);
  }
});
```
